Admin and Marketing Assistant

We’re looking for a new member of our team to join our exciting learning and performance community. It’s a part-time role and we’re looking for someone with admin experience.

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Responding to school enquiries through the website, email and phone.

  • Managing the booking system for all workshops, classes and events.

  • Maintaining the mailing list and sending out mail-outs and newsletters.

  • Overseeing the business’ calendar of events, and booking appointments.

  • Assisting with events including venue-booking, ticketing and meeting and greeting.

  • Creating and posting content for social-media to promote events and success stories.

Essential Experience:

  • Have some experience in administration and promotion for a business or a series of events.

  • Confident in Word, Outlook and writing emails and social media content.

  • Basic design/layout skills for creating visual newsletters and social posts.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with Mailchimp and Hootsuite (or other scheduling app).

  • Experience in web updates for example using SquareSpace.

Person Specification 

  • Enjoys working autonomously but also as part of a small team.

  • Interested in the arts and performance.

  • Enjoys being part of a dynamic community, friendly and helpful to enquirers.

  • Experienced in administration and interested in helping a small business run smoothly.

Hours and Pay

  • The post is for 9 hours per week. Ideally this would be 10am-1pm on Tuesday-Thursday but we do have some flexibility on days/hours and can be discussed.

  • The post-holder should be happy to work remotely – but ideally available for meetings at The Chester Storyhouse where needed and for some in-person events where available.

  • £12 per hour

Acting Teacher

Our school is expanding and we’re looking for an experienced acting teacher to lead our weekly evening teen and adult classes in Chester.

NWEAS offer successful independent training programmes for actors in the North West,  offering dynamic, focused acting training for adults and teens plus workshops, 1-2-1 training and performances in Chester.

The skills we’re looking for:

  • Acting teaching experience for all ages.

  • Professional acting training.

  • Professional acting experience in theatre and TV.

  • Experience in working to lesson plans and/or a curriculum.

  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and friendly.

  • Can teach techniques and exercises from – Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stanislavski.

  • Adaptable and welcome to training from the school directors.

The post holder will also be responsible for the welfare of the students and the opening and closing of the venue. 

Candidates should be DBS checked and have Public liability insurance.

Start date and timings:

To begin week commencing September 5th 2022 and to work for up to three evening classes a week between 5th Sep –14th Nov (and proceeding terms) as well as occasional other dates throughout the term.

Pay

£25 per hour (Adult classes are 2hrs long, teens classes are 1hr 45mins)
